CARNIVORE:
(darling, you’re trembling.)
I’m trying to brighten up melody
and cut ties with songs so hollow.
So I’m coughing up the bitter taste
cause I’ve found the antithetical.
This heart still beats and lord knows it’s singing,
but i’ll spark what’s left so you fucking get it.
And put to rest and doubt you hold.
But you won’t fucking get it
cause they fixed your thinking and everything your believing in.
So, fuck it.
(I wanted the whole world.
Set the world on fire.)
I cut my teeth in the drones of the darkest doves,
was locked and loaded but I didn’t know of love.
I drove my fear to inspire, then pushed back even harder.
Saw through the bullshit, and pushed back even harder.
Now I see what those long nights were for
The sunrise isn’t far behind, the rain won’t last for long.
You’re just caught in the seasons.
I felt something now I’m not the same.
I finally see all the colors from the grey.
And even with a black cloud looming above, I
caught a satellite feed and the signal was somehow enough.
It must have been the storm.
I was left dissecting the patterns of thought that had me stuck in the same rut.
I’m not wrong, I was born with this, and now I’m waking up.
Do you fucking get it?
I’ve caught sight of the sun.
I just couldn’t see it, I was breaking in the middle but changing into something.
My heart was only lost, but never too far away.
Open up! Shout to the sky you’re enough
and close off the hate with all the love you contain.
Swear you’re enough!
Bury the seeds of your past till they grow!
I’m finally feeling the sun.
The sunrise isn’t far behind, the rain won’t last for long.
You’re just caught in the seasons.
And a shift in tides is all in time, keep waiting out the storm.
My love, there’s a reason.

Arrows (2015)

(Show me the way to go home, I’m tired and I want to go to bed.)
From your birth, till you’re dust.
just buying into a dim light.
And this is the prism reflecting the surplus
to get you blacking out in the ringing of dissonant notes.
And I appear stuck in my head but I’m dreaming.
You lost sight, but my stay was overdue.
That’s the difference. I’m done.
And these waves will break
till you’re in the undertow of trends.
And I’m the wake fashioning them.
(You can always hear me singing a song.)
The harps of sirens have been calling you.
I’ll fix my sight on your front lines.
I’m not burning out cause you left this town with your
bloodline in the coal mines, to flatline in the coal mines.
Revived and I’ve been scaling ivory towers to sharpen my thorns.
And your gardens will be overwhelmed!
and the light that I carry will be found!
I left it to the stars I’m reflecting
when all I had was the flare of last wish, hardly breaching the darkness.
I’ll fix my sight on your front lines.
I’m not burning out cause you left this town with your
bloodline in the coal mines, to flatline in the coal mines.
Revived and I’ve been scaling ivory towers to sharpen my thorns.
I left it to the stars!
Oh, the stars
So take a breath, and promise me love, you’ll swim until we can’t,
and forget all the fear that we hold.
I’m not blinded by the light where we’re going
cause I know the harps of sirens play out of tune.
So prepare to send the fight where I’m going (where I’m going).
I ain’t hiding.
(Mr Simmons went in swimming early one summer morn, he took a dip and she began to shout.)
*reverse part at end (*somewhere over the rainbow)
